The garden is settled on paper first, where a change is a line moved and not a wall rebuilt.
A site visit, a measured plan, a planting plan and a written scope, all before any work starts.
Design is where every Verdant Row garden begins. We visit the property, walk it with you and measure it. From that comes a measured plan of the site, a planting plan showing what goes where, and a written scope that sets out the work. All of it is in your hands before any work starts.
The reason to do it this way is that the parts of a garden depend on each other. Where the patio sits decides where the beds can go. The beds decide where water is needed. Lawn fills what is left, and should be a shape that is pleasant to look at and possible to mow. Deciding those things together, once, is what makes a garden read as one place.
It also means the build can be scheduled in sensible phases. You can see the whole garden on the plan even if it is made a stage at a time.
We walk the property with you, look at what is there and hear how you want to use it.
A drawing of the garden to measure, so every later decision is made against real dimensions.
Which plants go where, chosen to suit the Tennessee Valley climate.
The work set down in writing before any of it begins.
None of this is required. It just makes the site visit more useful.
